All the songs below have been re-produced with the kind permission of the people I can get hold of!!! If there is anyone out there who was involved in any of the music that is going to appear on this page, and wishes that it hadn't then I am very sorry. If you email me with an angry message, then I will take the music off!! However if you like the idea that music you were involved in is going to be heard worldwide, then you can email me with the offer of money (or sex) or both!! On a personal level I would like to thank everyone involved in my musical career so far, it has been absolutely brilliant, fun times, sad times but always good material for a song!! ENJOY!! Please be aware of the various volumes on these songs - be careful when changing from track to track - every song was recorded at Od.b but due to dynamic volumes it will vary. All songs are copyright © of their respected owners. 2010 - New Songs?? More Info to come. Recorded by Iain Wetherall, Ian also played the electric (go mad on it, Iain) guitar, John Death is also in there somewhere saying weird things!! Paul wrote a couple of lyrics but as all songwriters know, the other writer gets a 'writing' credit!! So... Pheasant/Pheasant it is. What is the song about? Loneliness, desperation?? Recorded, arrange, performed by me under "The Tapes" name. My good friend, Ian Forbes added another verse at 1:05am on 31st October 2004 but I did not use it!! No writing credit there then, Ian. (hehe) Click here to listen to the song. Right click and choose 'Save Target/Link As...' to download the song to your computer. Might Never Happen Written at 9:40pm on the 30th April 1999. Written by me recorded arranged and mixed by Ian Wilson and myself under 'The Tapes'. Great acoustic guitar(s) by Ian. We had a version, longer and with fretless bass and drums, but decided that an original recording complete with Ian's guitar(s) sounded better. What is it about?? Good question!! Recorded, arranged and mixed by 'The Tapes'. I think the lyrics are great, and the lead guitar break... wow!!! What makes this song work is the strings... a bit of light and shade, in when there needed, out when they are not... guess who played the string keyboard...?? me!! (haha!) Hardman Recorded on 26th January 1976 at Beck Studios in Wellingborough, by Derek Tompkins. The band consisted of Rod Morris, Alex Henderson, and myself. Rod played guitar, Alex played drums, and I played bass guitar. Vocals are by myself, with Alex on the chorus. Recorded from a Shellac Album size demo, so many hiss and burps, from album to the Zoom, to CD, to computer. Not one of the greatest songs ever written, but I was only 20 years old!! And we were having a great time.... Click here to listen to the song. Right click and choose 'Save Target/Link As...' to download the song to your computer. Ghoul Rod would have loved this! One of his songs going worldwide... great!! Written by Rod Morris and performed by 'Outpatients' Recorded by Derek Tompkins at Beck Studios Wellingborough, at the same time as above. Rod Morris was a one off, great fun to be with. He once went to Mr Bips nightclub wearing full scuba diving gear!!! And I can remember playing 'dead in the middle of the road' with Rod.. great times, great musician, great talent. At the time me and Rod were competing against Roy Garlick and Richard Oliff as we had been in a band together, then went our separate ways, to record the best songs we could... Rod Morris, guitar, Alex Henderson, drums, Colin Pheasant bass guitar, seven minutes, twenty seconds... well done Rod!!! Click here to listen to the song. Feed Men and Dreaming Chrome-Molly are: The band started out in 1976 as ‘BUCK’ eventually evolving into `CHROME MOLLY’ around late 1977/78. I can remember playing in The Phoenix pub as `Exploding Mushroom’ (one of Binley’s that one!) between `BUCK’ and `CHROME MOLLY’. Only recently I asked Ian Wilson (my `THE TAPES’ partner) what it was like seeing and hearing `CHROME MOLLY’? He replied that every time we played we gave 100% in our music and looked great on stage – especially me!! (After I’d given him £100! he… he…). It was exciting and a privilege to have been in the mighty `CHROME’ and to have worked and written songs with, in my opinion, some of the most talented and gifted musicians in the area at that time. I learned a lot thanks to Graham, Al, Tony and Mick - God Bless You All! Colin - 17th January 2007. Right click and choose 'Save Target/Link As...' to download the song to your computer.
